Before the launch of the restaurant, the b.good website was to serve as the primary contact point for customers who see any b.good pre-launch marketing activities.

Since b.good wouldn’t have a restaurant open for a few months, the site served as the information source for customers who may have been reached by marketing campaigns or heard about our concept from family and friends. The site needs to be a tool to support pre-launch marketing activities. Such marketing campaigns will try to drive customers to our site where they will submit email addresses for more info or enroll for incentives. The email list we compile before launch will serve as an important asset for customer acquisition once the restaurant opens.

The website must reinforce the brand and serve as another marketing channel. Therefore, I think the site needs to be different and hip; not corporate or stiff. We are a different, unique concept and that must be reinforced with a visit to our Web site.

Create a restaurant website like no other full of stories, contests, movies, with a design that truly embodies the owners intent in having a restaurant that is very unique.

Results
Before the restaurant opened, 4 months after the website launch 500 (email addresses) potential customers signed up for the mailing list and we sent out two newsletters. In the last two years we have put up 6 web, online video and newsletter driven contests with entry levels in the hundreds. b.good has been featured on television, magazines, newspapers and radio in Boston.

The newsletter subscription base has grown to over 5000.

b.good was awarded the Boston Retailer of the Year Award in 2005. The presenter gave a 30-minute presentation on the merits of b.good online marketing success. He emphasized how the things (contests, newsletters, family events, videos) they have done can and should be used in other markets.

b.good is opening a third location in Brookline Massachusetts this July.
