Case Studies - Cambridge Athletic Club
| |
In 2003, Cambridge Athletic Club ("CAC") wanted to find a program that would increase revenue for the club, so they developed a basketball program, a professionally run league with referees, a flip scoreboard, and a scorekeeper. To bring CAC basketball to the next level, they needed to get basketball players around Cambridge and Boston Massachusetts area to talk about and play competitive basketball in a gym designed for four-on-four basketball games. SOLUTION RESULT | Fees are $120 per player or $750 per corporate team. The website cacbasketball.com receives an average of 600 visitors per day. The website consistently ranks near the top of most search engine rankings. In the past year the CAC basketball court has been refinished and painted. Two years ago, a digital scoreboard was added. Every player receives a crfc basketball t-shirt and reversible blue and white logo jersey. The gym also runs three weekend three-on-three tournaments per year. The tournaments average thirty five teams in five divisions. One of the tournaments proceeds is given charity every year. The last tournament gave $4,000 dollars to The Special Olympics. Basketball at CAC has gone from a side activity to one of the most popular adult recreational programs in the Boston area. |
